Footballers María José Paul and Jon Ander Gil and coaches Eli Ibarra and Diego Feijoo collected the award on behalf of the entire Athletic Club Fundazioa squad
The annual El Correo Sports Awards gala was held on Monday, 31 January, at the Sala BBK in Bilbao. Athletic Club Fundazioa, our Genuine team, received one of the Sports Awards given every year by El Correo. The players María José Paul and Jon Ander Gil and the coaches Eli Ibarra and Diego Feijoo collected the award on behalf of the entire Genuine squad.
Likewise, seven players from Athletic femenino’s youth academy were also honoured with the El Correo Sports Award. They are the players Ane Elexpuru, Clara Pinedo, Maite Zubieta, Jone Amezaga, Sara Ortega, Marina Artero and Eunate Astralaga. All of them were proclaimed world champions in the Under-17 and Under-20 categories at the championships held in Costa Rica and India.
