The Athletic Club Foundation celebrates the sixth anniversary of the approval of the Sustainable Development Goals, a strategic pillar of its work
On September 25, 2015, the UN General Assembly approved the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, a set of global goals to eradicate poverty, protect the planet and ensure prosperity for all citizens of the world. Specifically, the 2030 Agenda raises 17 Goals with 169 targets that cover economic, social and environmental areas. Thus, six years have passed since the largest international organization established a roadmap for how to face the future of humanity with hope.
In recent years, both Athletic Club and its Foundation have made a great effort to be able to comply with the SDGs of this agenda. In fact, commitment to the 17 SDGs established by the UN is a strategic pillar of the Foundation. For this reason, all the Athletic Club Foundation’s social, cultural, sporting, academic and environmental projects are aligned with the 2030 Agenda.
Explanation of the SDGs in relation to each Foundation project
The Foundation’s website offers detailed information on every single one of the projects that support its work in five major areas of action: social, cultural, sports and academic, training and development, and environmental. Likewise, the website indicates the Sustainable Development Goals with which each project is aligned, containing icons corresponding to each related SDG and, next to them, the reasons that justify this relationship.
For example, if you accessed the Foundation website dedicated to the RSMB Osakidetza project , you can check the SDGs associated with the project and the reasons that justify this relationship. In this case, as is shown on the page, it would be SDGs 3 and 11. These explanations are included with all of the Foundation’s projects.
