MENTAL HEALTH CENTRES

In the area of ​​Mental Health, the Foundation, in addition to Osakidetza, also collaborates with a series of private centers that participate in the Euskadi Intercentros Futsal League. The names of these entities are Avifes, Argia, Eragintza, Asasam and San Juan de Dios.

The Foundation organizes training and multi-sport sessions with private entities that work in the field of mental health, helping people with these types of problems to improve their situation and stay in the community environment. Specifically, the Foundation collaborates with Avifes, Argia, Eragintza, Asasam and San Juan de Dios through weekly training sessions, both multi-sport and futsal. All these centers, together with those belonging to the Osakidetza RSMB, participate in the Euskadi Intercentros Futsal League. The Foundation organizes around 25 weekly training sessions with the users of these centers.

In the weekly trainings run by the Foundation’s coaches, the aim is to help patients in the treatment of mental illness through sport. Sport helps to achieve the following: the improvement of certain symptoms and aspects of the illness, the acquisition of social skills and healthy lifestyles and breaking down the stigmas that unfortunately often surround people suffering from mental illnesses.
