REQUEST FOR books, DIGITAL DOWNLOADS AND DONATIONS

Over the last few years, the Athletic Club Foundation has published and distributed various novels, short stories, comics and posters for free with the aim of bringing reading closer to the world of football. In September 2021, the Foundation also organised an exhibition of photographs by Ernesto Valverde entitled “Beste Aldea” (“The Other Side”)

In parallel with the organisation of the Literature and Football and Thinking Football Film Festival events, the Athletic Club Foundation has published and distributed thousands of copies of various novels, short stories, comics and posters for free, with the aim of bringing reading closer to the world of football. The authors published by the Athletic Club Foundation include such distinguished names as Juan Villoro, David Trueba, Aixa de la Cruz, Katixa Agirre, Pedro Zarraluki, Harkaitz Cano, David Safier and Karmele Jaio.

In 2019, the Foundation published short novels written by two of its first team players: “Togo” by Óscar de Marcos, and “Bizitza eskukadaka” by Ainhoa Tirapu.

In 2020, the spotlight fell on Igor Porset, an Athletic Club Foundation player in the Genuine team. The Foundation published a total of seven thousand copies of “Ser Williams”, an Easy Reading book that was very well received.

In September 2021, the Athletic Club Foundation presented an exhibition of photographs by Ernesto Valverde entitled “Beste Aldea” (“The Other Side”).

The Athletic Club Foundation has made this journey thanks, to a large extent, to our collaborators and supporters. However, we still have a long way to go. Your donations help to support the Foundation’s various social and cultural projects and help us to carry out new initiatives. Any contribution is welcome. Thank you very much.

Request for copies

The Foundation’s publications, which are available in Basque and Spanish, have been distributed free of charge to schools, Athletic Club’s partner clubs and bookshops in Bilbao. Some of the editions have run out, but education and training centres, bookshops and individuals can order copies of the available editions by sending an e-mail to info@fundacionathleticclub.eus. Please include your name and surname, a delivery address and the number of copies requested in the e-mail.

Digital downloads

The Athletic Club Foundation has made download links available for some of its recent publications. Consequently, anyone can read the books written by Óscar de Marcos, Ainhoa Tirapu and Igor Porset in digital format.
