Genuine Team

The Athletic Club Genuine Foundation team is made up of people with intellectual disabilities from associations in Bizkaia, participants in other Foundation projects for the same group.

They train weekly at the Lezama sports facilities with Athletic Club coaches and play in LaLiga Genuine, a La Liga Foundation project. This championship is divided into four final stages, hosted by clubs from the professional football league (La Liga). The Athletic Club Foundation team won the first four editions of the Fair Play trophy, which honours the most sporting team of all those taking part in the competition.

The associations Adizmi, Down Syndrome Foundation, Gaude, Geu Be, Gorabide and Haszten collaborate in making the Genuine squad, made up of footballers with intellectual disabilities.
