PAEDIATRICS

The Foundation collaborates with the Cruces University Hospital and, in 2015, its paediatric innovation department drew up a plan to help in the humanisation process of treatments aimed at children.

RELATED SDG

The plan was divided into two parts and was inspired by the common values of an elite athlete and a patient (effort, faith, trust in the team, etc.), which in turn were reflected in personalities designed for the occasion. These personalities are used to decorate a number of paediatric spaces, with designs created and paid for by the Athletic Club Foundation, as well as stickers that are distributed both in the facilities and in all of the health centres in Bizkaia for treating children. These stickers have the tag “txapeldun” and are given as a reward for the attitude of patients. Likewise, children admitted to Cruces University Hospital are given a diploma signed by the captains of Athletic Club men’s and women’s teams, which certifies their value and courage during treatment.
