The Walking Football Foundation teams make their debut in Europe

The international tournament takes place on October 11 and 12 in Albufeira, Portugal

Two Athletic Club Fundazioa teams will play an international Walking Football tournament on October 11 and 12 in Albufeira, Portugal. As its name suggests, Walking Football is a type of football in which, basically, you play while walking. The Foundation dedicates one of its social projects to this modality with the aim that those over 50 years of age continue to have options to play sports and can continue to enjoy football in another way, avoiding, as far as possible, the risk of injury. In this international tournament, Fundazioa teams participate in two categories: over 50 and over 60 years old.

In addition to Athletic Club Fundazioa, English teams such as Seaton Carew WFC, Letsby Avenue WFC, 1874 Northwich and Real Exiles, Portuguese teams such as Benfica FoundationSC Farense, East Algarve Tariva, East Algarve Olhoa, Odiaxere WFC and the Browns WFC, together with Málaga FC and the South African team Luso Africa participate in this competition. The tournament is played at the Estadio da Nora in Albufeira in the modality of football 7.
