University training in Protection of children and adolescents

 
 

 

The pre-registration period for the postgraduate course of the Athletic Club Foundation and the UPV/EHU is open

One more year, the Athletic Club Foundation and the Faculty of Education of Bilbao have combined their experience and interests in the Title “Expert in Sport, Education and Coexistence: Protection of children and adolescents“. Over 20 credits and blended learning, experts in the field of education and sports will train sports, school and federated sports professionals from an innovative, inclusive approach and based on values that promote comprehensive development of people.

This title responds to the pioneering laws in the protection of children and adolescents, in particular the Organic Law for the Comprehensive Protection of Children and Adolescents against Violence (LOPIVI) and the figure of delegate of protection highlighted in the same. To this end, the title is articulated with three main objectives:

1) Instruct in the legislative framework related to the protection of children and adolescents and link it to the sports field.

2) Train coaches capable of designing, developing and evaluating training processes that guarantee equal rights and opportunities from a special attention to values, equity and the emotional dimension.

3) Identify sport as a tool for the development of social and critical skills, and service to citizens.

Students will also have the opportunity to learn about experiences in the sports field in relation to childhood and adolescence and will carry out specialized internships in an environment that enables them to put the contents of this postgraduate course into practice. All this under the supervision of the Athletic Club Foundation and the UPV/EHU who have designed this training in order to achieve excellence in sports work with minors.
