For a 100% sustainable Athletic Club

The reduction of the carbon footprint linked to the Club is one of the Foundation’s strategic challenges

The Athletic Club Foundation works together with the Bilbao Metropoli-30 Association and with agents linked to metropolitan mobility with the aim of advancing in a sustainable mobility model linked to the Club’s sporting activity that minimizes its environmental impact on the environment. In this project, the Foundation addresses the challenge of reducing the impact of the carbon footprint and proposing measures to cause a lower environmental impact.

In order to define concrete actions, at the joint meeting on January 22, it was decided to work through discussion groups in four thematic areas. These are: decrease in the use of private vehicles, increase in the use of public transport, enhancement of other non-polluting means of transport (bikes, scooters, travel on foot …) and development of tools that facilitate shared vehicles.

Among the attendees, there have been representatives of the Provincial Council of Bizkaia, some municipalities in Bizkaia, public and private transport entities and companies linked to the mobility of the territory and sustainability.
